Hunter's News is a promotional article published in 1995 on the final pages of Gamest issues 138 to 141 alongside an advertisement for the recently released Vampire Hunter: Darkstalkers' Revenge.
The first two volumes introduced the new characters Donovan and Hsien-Ko, while the latter two volumes had a side story and two illustrations made by Haruo Murata and Bengus specially for it, the series starting to gain a more in-depth story from this point.[1][2] The side story shows Demitri's battle against Belial and how he was banished from Makai.

Donovan
Donovan is a man who hates the existence of the Darkstalkers and fights to eliminate them all. His wish is to ensure that a sad existence like himself will never be born into the world again. Exactly... to put an end to the abominable bloodline of the "half-demons" born between humans and demons...
The girl's name is Anita. After they met in a certain town, she started following Donovan. She is also a girl with an innate special ability (telekinesis), which made people look upon her strangely and fear her, and she lost all emotions, not crying nor smiling. Perhaps the reason why she admires Donovan is because she sensed the same light in his eyes.

A "Senjutsushi" who uses various magics, obtaining the power of spirits through prayer. Lei-Lei and her twin sister Lin-Lin learned "Senjutsu" from their mother, who possesses great praying powers.
One night, an incident occurred where the dead rose from the village graveyard and attacked the villagers. Lei-Lei's mother uses her powers to fend off the monsters, but collapsed from exhaustion. Her mother's soul was also infected by darkness. In order to defeat the Darkstalkers, the source of darkness, it was necessary to obtain a corresponding power.
The "Igyō Tenshin no Jutsu" was sealed away because it was too dangerous... In exchange for tremendous power, this technique consumed life force at an incredible speed. Lei-Lei obtains a weapon to fight the monsters, and Lin-Lin transforms into a "Senfuda" to lend her power to Lei-Lei... The two hearts that yearn for their mother are now united.

Demitri's battle 100 years ago (Part 1)
The Prince of Darkness (Demitri Maximoff)...
What was the "battle 100 years ago" that led to his banishment from Makai?
Now, allow me describe the whole story here.
● The three great "Demon Nobles" who rule Makai - the Aensland family, the Dohma family, and the Voshtar family. This ruling system, which lasted for over 10,000 years, collapsed with the death of the head of the Voshtar family, the Spirit Lord Galnon. This was the beginning of what would later be called the "Makai War."
● The head of the Dohma family, the Underworld Lord Jedah, took advantage of this opportunity to seize full control of Makai. He broke a taboo and pried open the "gate" to the human world, and began to collect evil souls. This was in order to defeat the head of the Aensland family, the Demon Lord Belial, who possessed the greatest Maryoku in Makai. However, Jedah self-destructed when he absorbed far more Maryoku than he could possibly handle.

● Demitri had a chance to win. He took advantage of the "gate" to the human world that Jedah had opened, and made up for the absolute difference in Maryoku. Cunningly and skillfully controlling Maryoku, Demitri's offensive gradually narrowed the sphere of influence of the Demon Lord Belial.
"Just wait, Belial... I'll show you who is Makai's mightiest!" - Maryoku clashes with Maryoku. The time for the showdown draws near!!

Demitri's battle 100 years ago (Part 2)
"Just wait, Belial... I'll show you who is Makai's mightiest!"
Demitri Maximoff approaches the Demon Lord Belial through the "gate" that connects the human world and Makai while radiating with Maryoku.
Will he be able to achieve his ambition?
● Finally, Demitri arrives at the Demon Lord's castle. A sinister, suffocating presence hangs in the air. A huge shadow suddenly appears.
"Why you...! It is rude of you to barge into my castle without permission..."
There was a towering giant like a rocky mountain. Demitri answered without hesitation.
"Hmph... Soon this castle will be mine. And Makai too!"
"Laughable!"
In an instant, countless blades of light were fired at Demitri. He narrowly dodged them and stepped back. The air trembled, and the Demon Lord's eyes widened.
● The fierce battle lasted for several days. At first, Belial had thought of treating him lightly and slowly torturing him, but he realized that things had changed a little. Even the Demon Lord has a limited amount of Maryoku.
"This guy... where did he get this enormous amount of Maryoku from...?"
Demitri absorbed souls through the "gate" that connects to the human world, and now he was able to control an infinite amount of Maryoku. Demitri was confident of his victory.
"It's over, Belial... Get My Rage!"
When he tried to fire a fireball with all his power at Belial...
● "Guh... W-What!? I can't move!"
Demitri's arms stiffened, and he was being dragged by the wave of Maryoku that was flowing back with terrifying force.
"Belial... What have you done!?"
"In the end, you didn't have the strength to defeat the Demon Lord!"
With the last of his strength, Belial separated a part of Makai... the space with the "gate" that was the connection to the human world, into another dimension. Consumed by the enormous energy he had summoned, Demitri was blown away from Makai.
"It's sad to lose a little of my world, but... it can't be helped."
● Demitri was sent to the human world along with his castle, and was forced to sleep for a long time to heal his injured body. As a result of this battle, the "gate" was lost, and at the same time, many creatures from Makai were sent into the human world. And then, 100 years later... The Prince of Darkness, Demitri Maximoff, was resurrected due to Pyron's attack. The momentary peace of Makai was about to be disturbed once again. Who is the true strongest in Makai? The answer will soon be revealed.
